Generally

The community of Karia, is from Larisa 79.2 km away and is located at an altitude of 900 m The name comes from abundant in walnuts ("Karyes") that have always existed in the area. A second version says that the name came from a corruption of the name "Carney". The Karni, according to legend, was a nymph in the area, which enchant the lads and lead them to her cave.
